Good book
Overall, this book is a good introduction to christian education..its history and some philosophy behind it.

It presents theories of education and learning and addresses a broad range of topics. It uses both christian and secular references and goes through many of the major "movements" in American education. This book had a good bit in common with a text book that I had while taking educational philosophy class in grad school (at a secular school), but tops that general base with specific christian references and education history.

It does, however, read VERY much like a textbook, so don't expect an "on the edge of your seat" read or much, if any, humor.

Overall, this is a solid book and if you had to buy one book to serve as a general educational theories / christian ed. book, this would be a good choice. It is not as "deep" or philosophical as some of the other christian education books, so can be easier to read and more practical.
