Spare Keys
Anyone looking for a spare key for these locks can get them free at 1-800-234-6992 ext. 4 (Kim Schmit). They will send you two keys free all you need is a key number that is on the keys.
Basic Protection at a Reasonable Price
Buying a trailer lock is a bit like buying door locks for your house. You are primarily looking for deterrence, because any lock can be broken. If you have a $20,000 trailer full of valuable equipment, or loaded with an expensive boat sitting in your driveway, you probably want to invest in a better lock than this. But if you have a basic utility trailer, you just need something that will show thieves they are going to have to work at stealing the thing, and withstand a small bolt-cutter or a couple whacks from a hammer. This works fine. It's not cheaply made or flimsy, it's easy to use, and it provides pretty cheap insurance. If you need something better, spend more and get it. If you need something simple and basic, this is a good buy.
Duplicate Key
The security on these things is a joke. I lost the yellow part to one of these, so I bought a new one. My old key works in the new one. Is that a coincidence?
So the only chance you have is against somebody that doesn't know this... Well now everybody knows this.
