About the Author
GODFREY HARRIS has been a public policy consultant based in Los Angeles, California, since 1968. He began consulting after working as a university lecturer, U.S. Army intelligence officer, foreign service officer with the Department of State, and organizational specialist in the President’s Executive Office. His career has involved in more than 15 house and office moves. He holds degrees from Stanford University and UCLA.

MIKE H. SARBAKHSH has been the owner of Beverly Packing, a Los Angeles-based fine arts and antiques packing, moving, freight forwarding, and storage specialty firm since 1981. Beverly Packing is known throughout the motion picture industry and among leading entertainers as the firm of choice whenever film props, household goods, and other property requires to be moved from location to location. Early in his career, Sarbakhsh used his design training and construction knowledge to develop many of the specialized techniques that are now used by other moving and storage firms in protecting valuable and delicate cargo.

Don't Bother!
This book is a lot of fluff and filler, and not one original thought to be had. Its contents could easily be condensed to one or two pages, but they use all kinds of "title pages" and other tricks to try and make it look like a substantial-size book. Don't waste your money or time.

Finally, an organized move!
I am in the process of moving my residence and have purchased "The Essential Moving Planning Kit." Recently, I married and used the Wedding Planning Kit. I found that the wedding kit had kept me so organized that I couldn't wait to get starting with the moving kit. Moving one's residence can be emotionally difficult, especially when one isn't organized; but with an aid, such as the "The Essential Moving Planning Kit," my task has been definitely eased.

Useless
This is only a book of excel spreadsheet like forms - all empty. There is not one that suggests what you should do. Even the page titled "checklist" is blank for you to fill out. I was looking for a guide gently nudging me along the process. A tablet, ruler and a pen or five minutes on excel can give you more organization than this book. Don't waste your money!
