Needs Volume Control Knob
This adventure has turned into a love-hate relationship. The first night on these pillows set a new decibel record for our bedroom. It was like sleeping on pillows stuffed with newspaper. I was afraid to move. I needed a volume control knob. Every time I'd fall asleep, my wife would fluff her pillow and wake me up. It sounded like cats playing in a pile of Christmas package wrappings. Sleep deprivation can cause people to do strange things. I got the bright idea that washing and drying them with extra fabric softener would lessen the noise. Have you ever tried to drown an inflated beach ball? These pillows are supposed to be washable. That's like saying a cat is washable. With the tightly woven micro fiber cover being moisture resistant, they refused to sink in the machine. I had to grasp them with both hands and choke them into submission for 5 minutes to make them stay submerged. I think I saw a horror movie like this one time. At any rate, after several runs through the dryer, it was time to give them a second chance. The washing ordeal did not totally muffle these guys down to a whisper, but it did decrease the noise enough to allow some sleep. After a week, I'm now in love with my new pillow, but my wife went back to her old pillow. Sound familiar? They make mattresses with sleep numbers. Why don't they make pillows with sleep numbers - and volume control? In spite of starting out with a 1-Star night's sleep, at the end of the day, I'm now getting a 5-Star night's sleep. I guess that averages out to 3-Stars. I think I'll sleep on it.

Nice pillows. Very convenient for allergy sufferers.
I purchased these because they advertised that they were encased in dust mite encasing and were machine washable in hot water which is one of the best ways to reduce dust mite populations in bedding. It seemed easier and more effective to be able to wash the entire pillow than buy separate encasings which would need to be removed and put on.

At first impressions the pillows seemed to be very well made. After about a month of sleeping on them I would reiterate that they are well made, have held their shape, stood up to washing well and all in all I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Only reason for four stars is that my wife feels that they are not firm enough for her so please keep in mind that you are are used to sleeping with a very firm pillow these are likely not the ones for you. Perfect for me.

Don't sleep away from home without it!!!
These are my travel pillows. I know they will be clean and dust mite free no matter where we stay! They're comfy also!
