David Cartwright4
This book is an excellent overview of the New Testament. Especially well treated is the background leading up to 1st century Judea in culture, geography, and political standings. Done in easy to understand language.

Some terms need clarification and refinement, but that would make the book over 1000 pages...

New Testament Introduction5
Black's revision of Thomas D. Lea's classic introduction to the New Testament was one of two books that was required reading for an online course that I took at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. The New Testament: Its Background and Message covers different types of literature found in the New Testament and their cultural, historical, political, and religious backgrounds. Although the book is designed for seminarians, I would recommend it to any layperson who wants a systematic introduction of the New Testament. It should be noted that both of the authors come from Baptist backgrounds.

The New Testament: Its Background and Message5
Great book. Learned a lot from it as it goes very in depth into the books and how the New Testament came to be.
