The Inner Exodus
In this excellent book, Warren Kenton (Z'ev ben Shimon Halevi) releases the 'Book of Exodus' from the confines of literal history, and elucidates the real meaning of the story: the internal quest of every soul to be freed from the the bondage to materialism. Exodus, like all holy scripture, is mythological and allegorical, and as such it is much more 'true' than mere history. The story takes place every day, within each one of us. Kenton embellishes the text, and explains much of our human psychology, with wonderful tales and commentaries from the Kabbalah, the Talmud, and folklore.
Consciousness a tree, a tree of life
This book will tell you more about the human quest, and does take the biblical story of Exodus as symbol for your inner development. You might say it addresses the stories of Exodus as relevant to the human psychology. According to the author these stories are relevant to our personal development. The author uses material from Jewish and other traditions, more specifically Christian and Muslim. This book was translated in several languages a.o. Dutch. The author gives lectures to all parties genuinely interested in this material.
