Two Great Songs
'Let it Slide' and 'He Used To Be A Lovely Boy' are amazing songs; If you string these 2 together w/'Maybe I Can Change', 'Thin Air', and 'She Sells Sanctuary', you have yourself a great 5 song EP; It's nice to see a band not just put out something that's mediocre to cash in...The arrangements on this paticular CD are great; 'Boy' is a very somber and Beatles-like song with some nice lyrics and melody; 'Slide' is just upbeat and has the typical unexpected but welcomed vocal lines; Their songs never go where you expect them to, never taking the obvious way out. There's just a little more thought put into their stuff, and these 2 songs are no different.
Three Amazing and Beautiful Tracks
I consider Keane to be musical genuises because of their spectacular first two albums so I decided, "What the heck!" and bought this single with only the knowledge of loving Is It Any Wonder. It turns out this single is perfect. Let It Slide is upbeat and catchy and I love to run and dance to it.It reminds me of the song "Crystal Ball". He Used to Be A Lovely Boy is so..well..lovely! Chaplin really belts out in the chorus and it sounds so beautiful. It's defintely slower than the other two tracks but it's so meaningful. A perfect single for any Keane fan!
