Each little miss a winner
No one has reviewed this yet, which seems mad, so I'm basically just writing a brief note to go with the stars. This is a well chosen career-spanning anthology and a really enjoyable CD that feels created rather than compiled, diverse though it is. I mean it hangs together well, and would make as fine and interesting a place for someone new to Robert Wyatt to start as Rock Bottom or Comicopera. Excellent versions of Shipbuilding and I'm a Believer too, from the EPs. And of course it's from Japan so the packaging is beautiful. (Although the liner notes are in Japanese, the lyrics and basic track information are printed in English.)
I'm not an obsessive or very knowledgeable Robert Wyatt fan but I really, really like what he's done over the years, it's one of the great bodies of work, and I play this album in particular a lot.
Wyatt sounds great!
As a compilation " His Greatest Misses" works quite well for any new listener to the career of Robert Wyatt. Being a long time Wyatt fan and completist I was pleasantly surprised by the sound of the cd. The japanese pressing is stellar and all of these tracks have never sounded better. Great sound and a great selection of historical tracks make this cd a fine purchase.
