This latest edition of the acclaimed motorcyclists' guide to touring the New England area offers more suggested routes than ever along with fully updated listings of motorcycle friendly lodgings and great out-of-the-way restaurants. The author leads two-wheeled travelers through the twisties to scenic, intriguing destinations in six key regions: the rugged Maine coast, the high notches of the White Mountains, the lush gaps of the Green Mountains of Vermont, the lakes region of upstate New York, the rolling Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts, and the coastal areas of Rhode Island and Connecticut. Among the routes are favorite roads like Vermont's Route 100, or the Lake George area near the New York-Vermont border (site of the hugely popular Americade rally that attracts some 25,000 touring motorcyclists each June). Altogether, Berke has carefully plotted 24 trips for motorcyclists, most of them taking one day to complete. Each trip includes a detailed map and specific route directions. The trips are designed to accommodate various riding styles and audiences, from two-up travelers sightseeing, to sport riders riding the curves.

"If you tour, you need a copy of Motorcycle Journeys through the Appalachians. If you don't, buy a copy, and you will." -- Motorcycle Times
"Marty Berke sounds like he'd be a great guy to tour with. For those of us who'll probably never get the chance to put wheels to the road with him, however, Berke has written a highly entertaining and fact-crammed book . . . Breezy, humorous and entertaining . . ." -- Jerry Smith for Rider
"Motorcyclists wanting to explore now have the perfect guide . . ." -- BMW Owners News
About the Author
Marty Berke wrote both Motorcycle Journeys through New England and Motorcycle Journeys through the Southwest out of a lifelong love of the open road. Currently on the back roads full-time, he originally caught the two-wheeled fever with his first schwinn, and graduated to the motorized version not long after with a 1955 Vespa, a driver's license, and an IOU to Mom.
After graduating from C.W. Post College with a degree in economics, Marty spent the next eighteen years pursuing his hobby--while opening up new markets for a large corporation throughout Europe, the Americas, the South Pacific, and Asia.
Author of travel and motorcycle articles, he now prowls the world finding good roads and new ways to share them with you.

must-read material for New England riding
With basically one day to plan my trip (so I am a bit last-minute these days), this book was an indespensible boost in the good-time department. It is a great book to get you started, and provides all the necessary clues to create your own journeys. After a couple of days, you get to understand the way the maps illustrate the individual roads, and marty's book helps you identify the best kinds to explore. Sometimes the routes get confusing, but that just adds to the adventure. Makes a great gift, as I told the friend who got it for me.
MC Kpirmeys Through New England
I do alot of mc touring and have used this book for reference several times. Good info.
Motorcycle Journeys through New England...
I purchased it for my husband... he has been reading and enjoying it. It's always good to find those special places to drive, especially since the northeast is so limited in drive time!
