Customer Reviews

Excellent product!!2
Just found out that the plug needs to be recessed and INVERTED in the plugger prior to inserting it. As long as you do that it works great! I would highly recommend this product and carry it on my bike all the time. Unfortunately I can't change the "stars" but I would definitely give it 5 STARS now.

This product seems good until you have to use it... the previous reviewer hasn't used this product and it is providing a false sense of security.

I bought this kit a few months ago and hadn't tried it until today. This morning I had a flat on my BMW GS1200 ADV from a nail and decided to give this a whirl in the safety of my garage. What a surprise. The instructions are easy enough to follow. One is instructed to turn the wrench until it "stops turning" which indicates that the plug is now seated and it's OK to unscrew again and retract the plugger and nozzle. Following this procedure the plug was nowhere near seated and pulled back out inside the plugger. I tried again with the same results. Next I tried it outside of the tire to try to see what was happening. Essentially the plug was disintegrating within the plugger. Finally I used a large wrench to hold the plugger and an extension bar as a lever to turn the hex wrench and the rubber plug did appear - pushing out of he plugger. Since the plugger utensil is made from aluminum this scratched the plugger pretty badly. I repeated this (using wrench and extension lever) now with the plugger - as per instructions - plugged into the tire. The plug did get inserted or should I say the part of the plug that hadn't disintegrated. Anyway, the plug was now seated but, after testing with some soapy water, wasn't fully sealing the hole. In short:
- unless you've got "wrenches" as hands you'll need additional tools to hold the plugger and some extension lever to screw the wrench - there is no hard stop when deploying the plugger - you just turn as hard as possible and hope for the best
- the plug disintegrates to a large degree while deploying and you have to scrape remains from inside the plugger
- the resulting plug isn't satisfactory and may still leak air
- I didn't use the CO2 since I did this repair in my garage but if the plug still leaks after applying you'll need way more that the 4 mini cartridges supplied
- all in all it's a good idea but bad execution
I'll be trying to return this kit and looking for some other solution.

I hope I never use it5
This looks and feels like an excellent product. It is providing me piece of mind while I'm miles away from civilization on my bike. I just hope I never have to use it.
