Product Description

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that focuses on building flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk. Pilates increases circulation and helps to sculpt the body and strengthen the body's "core" or "powerhouse" (torso). People who do Pilates regularly feel they have better posture, are less prone to injury, and experience better overall health. Now you can learn how to do Pilates, or keep up with your training wherever you go! Let’s Pilates is the first Pilates instructional software available for the Nintendo DS, and it’s a treasure-trove of knowledge whether you’ve been doing Pilates for five years or five minutes. Best of all, with Let’s Pilates, you can train anywhere, anytime, without needing to be in class or in front of your TV.

Customer Reviews

Not user friendly or fun1
I love Pilates and have been doing it for several years, I've even gone through teacher training. I hoped this game would be a fun way to take new routines with me when I travel, to keep me on track and mix things up. Unfortunately, I found Let's Pilates to be difficult to follow and extremely annoying.

Pilates requires you to lay on the floor and use both hands for most of the exercises, yet the game offers very little audio guidance and requires you to be able to SEE the screen - nearly impossible when lying on your back. You have to keep stopping your exercise in order to get up and see what the heck you're supposed to be doing. Then when you do look, the animated avatar is demonstrating VERY poor form - if you arch your back that much doing Pilates, you are going to wind up in traction!

To "reward" you for completing challenges (usually learning a new Pilates move), you get to see your "Pila-Tree" grow, which is just completely retarded. You watch a little animated video with dew-drop characters making annoying noises, I swear it's worse than an animated show for toddlers. Not very rewarding! I liked unlocking new outfits and hairstyles for the avatar (okay that's dorky too, but I like it) but the way the game puts it together, it's just not much fun.

It's sister game, Let's Yoga, on the other hand is put together VERY well and is a great investment. The moves are safe and easy to follow and effective, very relaxing and fun. Both games were released on the same day by the same company, and I feel cheated! They obviously put a lot more work into Let's Yoga - if they had delayed Let's Pilates for a few months, maybe it could have been just as good.

I really wanted to like this game, but it sucks. Unsafe, hard to follow, not fun. After giving it a fair shake, I wound up selling it on Ebay.

It works!5
I bought the Let's Pilates game to challenge myself and to have a DS game for myself. It works. As I sit here typing this review, my core is sore. (did I just rhyme? I didn't mean to!) I lay on my mat in my living room, put the DS on the floor and have a little work out of a pre-determined part of my body I decide to work on. It's great! I highly recommend it!

Pilates Fun4
I have really enjoyed working out with this DS game. The instructions are great and easy to follow. I love the encouragment given by the little creatures that cheer you on and I love the fact that it keeps up with how much time you are exercising. I have done Pilates before and these excercises seem to be the real thing.

Peace,
Laura
