Customer Reviews

Worked great5
I ordered these hole saws because I wanted to convert a Wine bottle into a lamp.
Unlike the other reviewers I used a wood clamp to hold the bottle on my Drill press. It is recommended to use them at 300 RPM, but my drill press only goes down to 500. I used a small water spritster to wet the area and occasionally add water to the cut. The hole saw worked well in this application.
The problem with using a hole saw without an Arbor is that it will "Wander" and not make a clean initial cut. Once the hole is started it is fine. That is why I used the clamp and drill press. I also wanted to save all of the labels on the bottle, so I minimized the amount of water used. I did also cover the labels with shrink wrap and masking tape to protect them from accidental water damage.

WORKED GREAT - DIAMOND DUST HOLE SAW5
I had to cut some holes through a Porcelain Bath Sink (Don't ask why).

At first I tought normal cutting tools would do, but man, was I wrong!
Common drill bits had their tips melted...
That's how I learned how hard glass-ceramics are, and how well they handle heat. No wonder Nasa uses them on their space crafts!

So I did some research and learned that I needed to use diamond tools like these diamond dust hole saws.
I also learned that there are some specific ways to use them:

a) Set your drill at the lowest speed possible.
b) For safety reasons, use Battery powered tools.
If not possible, be sure to have operational Ground-Fault circuit interrupters outlets installed, use double-insulated tools, and don't let the tool get wet! And don't work alone!
c) Of course, use safety glasses, gloves, and other proper safety tools and procedures.
c) At all time the hole saw must be running water cooled.
d) Don't push the drill against the surface, be patient, let the hole saw grind its way in...

I have already done a few holes, and they came out perfectly in about 5 minutes. The hole saw still looks as new!

Recommended!

Holes in glass jars like a hot knife through butter.5
These bits cut right through a mason jar like it was nothing. Until I got these, I was using a different style glass/tile bit that broke more stuff than it drilled.
