Customer Reviews

Do not buy this if you want a well-built sturdy rolling backpack1
I bought this for my 12 year old son in October of 2007. I was taken in by the High Sierra name. I had gotten a High Sierra travel pack for my daughter and it went through 7 weeks of rain, high humidity and mud in Panama over the summer and came back looking almost as good as new so I was hooked by the brand. This one was expensive for a school pack but he had already been through 2 backpacks in the past year, so I thought that expense would translate into quality. I was sort of disappointed when it came in, as the handle looked flimsy and the material was thinner than I expected. However I thought it would be all right but I was WRONG! After a week the bottom was fraying and the plastic where the wheels go was starting to show. It got so bad that I patched it up with duct tape hoping that it would at least last throughout the schoolyear. Well today, he called and told me that the top handle had come completely off less than 2 months after we bought it. I was very disappointed in the poor quality of this bag. At least the ones that cost half as much lasted three times as long. In the real world, backpacks are dragged, slung, thrown and in general not treated very gently by kids and this backpack was not made for the real world or for real kids. Phooey!

Overpriced, Poor Quality 1
I bought this backpack for my 10 year son and gave it to him at Christmas 2007 - He used it from January until February 22, 2008 - The bottom has been completely shredded. He told me that it kept tipping over and he had to drag it. He could not pull it on the wheels. It is a waste of money. This product is not made to be used by children who have to haul alot of books home on a daily basis. Do not waste your money on this one!

Typical outsourced, poorly made, imported backpack1
I purchased this backpack for my grandson because a) I liked the colors, and b) I really thought that it would be superior to the stuff you see at Target and Walmart...and considering how kids treat backpacks, I figured I should go with a good name. What I received was pretty much typical of everything that comes into the US on one of those giant container ships--made to last about 2 months. Although my grandson absolutely loved the bag, it fell apart before the school year was over (and he only received it in December!) I was really disappointed in this purchase....will probably try Campmor or EMS for his next pack.
