Amazon.com Review
Internationally known medium George Anderson describes the nuts and bolts--if such a mechanical term can be applied to a spiritual field--of his talent for communicating with departed souls in Lessons from the Light, an honest, full-fledged account of the hereafter. Anderson doesn't call what he does "psychic reading;" rather, he picks up or discerns the messages that souls have for him. His description of the afterworld, and accounts of what happens to us when we die, come straight from his discernment of what souls on the other side tell him. Lessons from the Light carries a comforting message of hope for those who are grieving for a loved one, but it's also a valuable resource for anyone involved in postmortem studies. --Brian Patterson
From Publishers Weekly
Author of the classic bestseller We Don't Die, Anderson has worked as a medium for over 25 years, helping bereaved families come to terms with their loss by passing along messages of well-being and promises of joyful reunions in the hereafter. "I feel a whirring in my head, very much like a generator starting up," Anderson explains. "And while I am discerning [i.e., receiving] I am part of the exhilarating electromagnetic force that souls use to transmit their messages." Part of Anderson's procedure is confirming the identity of the participating soul. Here, with the assistance of Barone, he employs written submissions from his clients that intimately describe lost loved ones and the circumstances of their deaths. The book also incorporates Anderson's reflections on abortion, miscarriage and reincarnation, as well as his compassionate view of suicide (he disagrees with mediums who profess that suicide victims are forever exiled in purgatory). But the fundamental point of this intriguing book is that love binds us. Anderson writes that "souls in the hereafter constantly tell us that love is what survives our physical bodies." Whatever skepticism some readers may feel about the possibility of an afterlife, the testimonies of Anderson's clients do provide poignant examples of the struggle to deal with loss. Readers don't need to share a belief in mediums or an afterlife to accept that an enduring spiritual bond with a lost loved one can be heartwarming and therapeutic for the living.

From Booklist
On the heels of James Van Praagh's popular books about life on the other side of the veiled curtain comes this account by medium George Anderson, whose We Don't Die (1989) predated Van Praagh's work. In addition to several introductory chapters on material covered in the previous book about what happens after death, Anderson's latest provides transcripts of recent readings in which the author establishes contact between the bereaved and their loved ones. To Anderson's credit, the transcripts seem to be unedited. There are plenty of instances where he appears to be off the mark or leading his client (the live one, that is). Still, examined with an open mind, these transcripts show that, more often than not, the information about personal circumstances and events that Anderson claims to learn from contacts on the "other side" is amazingly on target. Many readers will be comforted by this latest attempt to link the living and the dead. Ilene Cooper
Customer Reviews
This book with change your life and bring you great peace.
I have had two private discernments with George Anderson and can attest to the absolute validity and truth of George's gift of mediumship and his awareness of the Other Side. This book is a "must read" for anyone who is looking for peace in this life or is wondering about how to move their own life forward "into the Light" on the earth and in the afterlife. Questions about the existence of souls in spirit form are answered. Issues of suicide, murder, death of children, terminal illness, acts of violence, the grief process, the existence of animals on the Other Side, how we pass over, and what the Other Side is like, are all discussed by George with great insight--and with compassion and love. If you want to know the best available REAL and definitive information about the afterlife, and how you can change your life now on the earth, to live out of the Light now, buy this book. George discusses our Life Review, how we see all of the things in our life after we pass over (both good and not so good). He truly gives the reader a blueprint for a life on the earth and a life of spirit in the afterworld. After reading this book, I now ask myself, whenever I want to decide something, "Do I want to see this in my Life Review on the Other Side--or not?" I recommend this book most highly for one's self and for a gift for friends who are in pain about loss or are skeptics. I can personally say that George and his knowledge of the Other Side are the REAL THING. This book, and the three former books about him by Martin and Romanowski, can bring much peace and comfort to the bereaved and to anyone wanting to know more about the continuity of the life after death in a life of spirit form, or about how to live in the Light of spirit life now on the earth.
Lessons from the Light:...George Anderson and Andrew Barone
I have experienced a terrible loss in my life recently and I was lost to every day life here on earth. It was suggested to me to read We Don't Die-which I did and got so much comfort that I read the rest of the series of books with George Anderson's in-put.I couldn't wait to recieve Lessons from the Light when it became available and I have to say for anyone who wants to choose just one of the books with messages from George Anderson-this by far is the best. There are no words to describe the comfort and sense of peace I have gotten from reading Mr. Anderson's words.I strongly recommend this book to anyone who has the question"so what's next? "
GEORGE ANDERSON....AMAZING!
My sister and I had a reading in the summer of 98 via phone with Mr. Anderson that changed my life. I was very cynical in the belief of life after death since the passing of my mother 4 years ago. I had seen countless psychics and mediums, and none impressed me at all. That is until Mr. Anderson. The only way he could have told us the things he did was if he was truly in communication with my mother, and I have no doubts that she was there.... George Anderson has reaffirmed my belief that there is more to this world and that there is indeed an afterlife. He is much more impressive that James Van Praagh, and I like Mr. Anderson more because he is less showy and has a terrific sense of humor. By all means read this book, it will change your life. If you've lost someone dear, it will comfort you tremendously.
