How to be the Captain of your ship, master of your soul5
The art of an inner compass is outlined in 52 lessons and excercies in this gem from Lynn Robinson. Life is meant to be lived and it is best lived when you navigate the seas of walking on earth. So few people understand the critical importance of being tuned into our inner wisdom. How do we start in a cranial world of logic and reason? Our intuition and through developing it as our ally in choice-making. Compass of the Soul provides techniques that strengthen our intuitive voice and our capacity to trust ourselves. Robinson is a masterful teacher who helps students understand the delicate balance of blending our intuition with intellect. This is practical, do-able, and for those of us who live in reality. Robinson is no nonsense and there is no "scary spooky" language in her writings. Overall, keep this compass handy so you can always tune into your very own North Star, and steer the course.

This was a tremendous help in agonizing a decision. One option looked good but felt terrible. Another was ok but felt like the lesser of two evils. I went with the latter and just couldn't shake a sense of regret that I erred in my choice. A few months later I ran into a friend of a friend who was familiar with the two organizations involved. Our conversation resulted in my negative vibes being verified 100%. It was errie and it was frightening to listen to my inner compass. But once this truth was revealed, I knew that I had made the right choice to walk away and ended up sparing myself some real stress. Now I trust myself much more than before and leave second guessing out of it.

Other books to consider: Finding Your North Star by Martha Beck, The Intuitive Way by Penney Peirce, The Psychci Pathway by Sonia Choquette, and The Vein of Gold by Julia Cameron. For those with a shamanic/Native American interest you can also look at Anam Cara (Celtic ways), and What We Ache For by Oriah Moutain Dreamer.

Finally going in the right direction5
The one big thing I can say about this book is that I wish I had it in high school. It would have been SO helpful to me when I was trying to figure out what direction to go in. Now I'm in my 20s and I'm just glad it's out there because it's a huge help and I can definitely feel my life starting to change. When I'm reading it I feel like the author is a friendly teacher, right there beside me, giving me tips on how to get a great grade. I can tell you from personal experience that Miss Robinson is the best teacher I ever had.
