Customer Reviews
A reasonably fun and not-too-difficult puzzle
In terms of difficulty, this puzzle is significantly easier than a Rubik's cube. There are 4 different colors, and each color has 5 triangle-shaped pieces numbered 1-5 for a total of 20 pieces. The red #1 acts as the "plug" and can be removed, creating one opening on the ball. You can then slide around the remaining pieces along grooves in the ball. There are several different "solutions" to this puzzle. That is, there are several different patterns that you can make (arranged by color and/or by number). Although the pieces move around relatively easily, I found the amount of sliding necessary to move the pieces into the correct locations to be somewhat tedious at times. Also the red #1 piece uses a twisting motion to lock/unlock into place. Since it is plastic, it feels like it may someday break due to the amount of tension placed on it when you twist it (although it hasn't broken yet).
Still overall it's a decent distraction. The multiple patterns/solutions give it some replay value. And although it didn't keep my interest as long as a Rubik's cube, I still find myself picking it up and playing with it from time to time.
A lot harder for smaller kids
This game was purchased for our son for Christmas. It is pretty durable, but harder than it looks. We got several different varieties of rubiks cubes for presents thinking that it would be a solitary game for the kids to play when mom needed some quiet time. The only person that seems to care that they are messed up is mom! On the durability note, this one doesn't have stickers to take off and the pieces don't pop off (trust me she has tried!) But if you want a brain teaser this is your game!
Christmas Present
I bought this for my grandson for Christmas.
He loves it --he has almost all the Rubiks
& is very proficient at solving them.
I'd recommend it for anyone who likes to
solve puzzles.
