Good bulb...
I used these to replace the par30 75w halogens I had been using in recessed can lights in my house.

They produce close to same quality of light as the halogens, i.e. soft white and about the same brightness as the 75w halogen.

They are instant on compared to some other CFLs that may take up to a full second to come on after you flip the switch. They come on at about 50% of their total output and it takes them about a minute to fully warm up and get to full capacity.

They are about a 1-1/2 inch longer than a par38 halogen, but they fit fine in my cans. You should measure before you order them to make sure they will fit in your specific case. They are 4-3/4" as stated in the product description.

The product description says 10,000 hours of life, but on the box it says they are spec'ed to last 8,000 hours. Clearly I have not had them long enough to say if this is true or not.

Given all the above (why I gave them 4 instead 5 stars), mainly due to the warmup time, means they are not a perfect replacement for the halogens, but given I replaced 26 75w halogens with these, effectively saving me over 1900 watts, I am willing to live with the slight differences to reap the energy savings.

Good but not good enough
I have tried many different Par30 CFLs for our kitchen and my wife says this 19w bulb is too green against our white kitchen cabinets. However, it looks like this one may be a winner: COMPACT FLUORESCENT FLOODLIGHT PAR30 CFL LIGHT BULB 15 WATTS 27K ENERGY STAR 2700 KELVIN WARM COLOR TONE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR RATED. Personally they both look the same to me. It is a tad brighter than the 15w bulb I have linked to.
