Product Description

Salomon made the lightweight, shock-absorbing Men's XA Pro 3D Ultra Trail Run Shoe for everything from your morning run in the foothills to your trail running excursion along the Appalachian Trail. Salomon's 3D advanced-chassis system pairs with close-to-the-ground construction for ultimate stability. This system stabilizes your feet over uneven terrain, without losing energy from your stride. Less stiff thanks to less TPU in the sole and pronation control in the midsole, the XA Pro 3D Ultra rises above the other XA models, providing more shock absorption and unparalleled comfort. Built for moving quickly, the 3D has lightweight, breathable sandwich mesh, so you can run the best times of your season. Salomon's Quicklace asymmetrical lacing with a lace-hiding pocket provides a foot-hugging, dependable fit through your entire race.

Customer Reviews

Hiking the AT? This is the shoe for you.5
Lightweight. Durable. Dries faster than anything else out there. Great toecap to prevent bumps and wear and tear. Lacing system is fast (not to mention kevlar) Walked over 800 miles with 35 lbs on my back before I had to turn em' in. I'm also 6'4" and 230 lbs. You do the math. Great shoes. Ignore the Goretex ones. Goretex is useless in wet environments where you have no cover.

Great shoe for hiking or short-med distance runs4
I bought these as somewhat of a hybrid (light) hiking shoe and trail runner. I've gone on some pretty intense, muddy, slippery hikes in these and they stood the test. The sole is pretty hard and has great traction. I was a bit worried about ankle support but the heel is cupped in a way that keeps your ankle from rolling (within reason). So it stood the text as a hiking shoe. I have also done some short runs in them. They're very light for a trail runner which is great. But they're not exactly a substitute for true running shoes. I probably wouldn't recommend them for anything over 3-4 miles on flat ground. All in all, they do what I wanted them to do and I'd buy them again for sure.

didn't hold up2
had for about 6 months and they startes to fall apart, started to pull apart at the seems and get holes in the mesh part of shoe. took to store, salesmen never seen anything like it.
