About the Author
Matt Piper has indulged his passion for music technology as a recording engineer, music producer, studio owner, musician/composer, and experimental music promoter since moving to Los Angeles in 1991. He joined the Course Technology family in 2005 with the publication of Reason 3 Power!, which he co-authored with Michael Prager. In 2006, he authored Using ReasonÂ’s Virtual Instruments: Skill Pack, an in-depth study of synthesis and how to make your own patches in Reason. Piper can currently be found in music venues around town using his laptop and other electronics to make strange psychedelic sounds with various improvisational groups.

A good Reason to exercise your knowledge
If you are starting or even you are an expert with synths, this is a very nice an helpful book to be always with you.Very comprehensive guide, will introduce you in the art of making music using Reason 4.The author did a very good work here because he teaches and makes you exercise, almost all the major features in Reason's software.

Excellent for beginners and intermediate
This book is excellent in getting straight into the thick of making songs without getting too technical. Very easy reading and especially all the examples are clearly marked with numbers referencing what he is explaining. I love it.

Sheer Brilliance!!
If you are new to Reason 4 then you just have to buy this book!!

The Author takes each of Reason's devices and walks you through simple exercises which takes you from a novice to a competent user! Once I started reading I couldn't put it down and worked through the entire book in a single day - a fully rewarding read - now I'm ready to make some music!!
