Sanuk was started by surfers in southern California in the late '90s who were looking for footwear that reflected their lighthearted way of life. Founder Jeff Kelley was disappointed to see little selection in a category of footwear that had become his main shoe staple: the flip flop. Jeff had always been interested in footwear and with a little help from a few friends Sanuk was born. Years later, the Sanuk brand still delivers out of the ordinary, quality product to surf and specialty shops every season and has helped bring the flip-flop category from a summer only item to something worn all year.

I am female, but............
These shoes are totally cool, COMFORTABLE, and stylish. I just wanted an all-around comfortable summer shoe(excellent as beach shoes too), and I like men's styles better sometimes(classy,understated, not girly or flashy), and these are great. I wear a women's size 8 1/2, and a men's 7 fit me perfectly. The toe bed is a bit wide aesthetically, but I think it would look that way to a man too(the shoes are foremost designed for comfort), but I love the long length of the upper. Very(!) comfortable. And the extra-special part: no animals were harmed making this product.

Cool and comfortable
I remember the day I was about to buy these. I showed them to three different people; all three said, "Those are ugly!" I bought them anyway because I wanted sandals that didn't show my toes.

None of those three people believed that the sandals I got were the ones I ordered. Put these on your feet and they're cool--in every sense of the word. I wear them to work with linen pants and get compliments left and right; I wore them to the beach last summer and they were perfect there, too (though they do hold onto sand for a while).

Better yet, I've never seen another pair of these besides my own. They're my little secret, my fun shoes that no one else has. Buy a pair and they'll be yours, too.

cool shoes
I am a 49 yr old attorney and was looking for a shoe that was simple and would be comfortable. I am a surfer wanna be and these shoes make me feel like the Big Kahuna. I want to get a pair of Sanuks for each day of the week.....now if I could only muster the courage to wear them to Court!
