Editorial Reviews

Review
"Whether you are a novice or experienced SAS user, you will be glad that you have this easy-to-read book as you learn new ways of working as a SAS user. The step-by-step tutorials make getting started with SAS Enterprise Guide easy and fast. The reference section gives you a deeper knowledge and understanding about the product. The chapter on using parameters and the sections on other features that are new with SAS Enterprise Guide 4.1 are very valuable." --Ginger Carey and Helen Carey, SAS Enterprise Guide instructors

As the development of SAS Enterprise Guide leaps ahead, the need for an easy-to-read handbook for the current version becomes even more important. The Little SAS® Book for Enterprise Guide® 4.1 continues to fill that niche with relevant and informative tutorials to support even the most inexperienced user. My copy was not "little," but I'd happily trade size for content, which continues to be delivered in this excellent series of user guides. I was especially impressed with the level of detail on customization of the SAS Enterprise Guide client and its reporting, because these are common requests from my clients. I look forward to showing this volume to my clients. Another publication very well done; congratulations Susan and Lora --David H. Johnson, Principal Business Systems Consultant, DKV-J Consultancies

Customer Reviews

Not much beyond the tutorial3
This book gives nice screen shots walking you through using the user-friendly version of SAS -- Enterprise Guide. As you can see from the index it covers the basics from importing data, doing descriptive statistics and generating basic reports. There is not much here in terms of statistics and actually there is not much at all beyond what is available in the tutorial that ships with the product. If you want to have a paper reference that covers that same material then buy this. If you want to go beyond that level pick up SAS Programming for Enterprise Guide Users (Sas Press) also take a look at Basic Statistics Using SAS Enterprise Guide: A Primer for basic statistics with EG.

Excellent introduction5
The first reviewer of this book is right; all this book does is give a 'walk through' of the tutorial that one can also get from the Tutorial package that comes with the program. But, let me tell you, the 'walk through' is done VERY WELL. The book basically spoon feeds; but, I loved it. I got the book for free, but, I have to admit, when I saw the price, it gave me a sticker shock.
