Disney has come to dominate the next-gen practice of pasting crowd pleasers into its soundtracks, and so it goes with Raven. Which, in this case, was a particularly wise move. Raven's contributions to these songs "from and inspired by" her tween-targeted TV show are fine, but don't go much farther. So instead of bumping the star's first two thumping, pop-slick tracks against Cheryl Lynn's disco classic "To Be Real," this disc's producers inserted a warm-up: Jesse McCartney's "Beautiful Soul" serves as a pleasant-enough buffer between manufactured music and the real, rip-roaring deal. Later, Des'ree's sophisticated "You Gotta Be" offsets Jump5's frantic futzing about on its cover of "We Are Family," continuing the high-low split. Sliced in are straight-outta-Kidz Bop anthems "Ultimate" and "There's Gotta Be (More to Life)," but ultimately we're returned to Raven, who holds her own but has reason to feel self-conscious about singing, for the second time, a song called "Supernatural" (a nod to her TV character's psychic gifts, but still). If the music scores a collective B minus, the package gets an A for extras: A bonus DVD has four Raven music videos, and the CD also works as a "special message" CD-ROM. --Tammy La Gorce

A pretty good CD that I enjoy listening to4
I watch That's So Raven quite often, and one thing I really like about it is the music. So when I heard that there was a THAT'S SO RAVEN SOUNDTRACK coming out, I knew I had to get it. It's your typical Disney Channel music, but it's still pretty good.

Standout tracks:
Beautiful Soul (Jesse McCartney) - I'm pretty sure that everyone has heard this song by now. It gets crazy airplay, has been on MTV's TRL, and has been in a few movies. It's a bit overused, but I was excited to see Beautiful Soul on the THAT'S SO RAVEN SOUNDTRACK.
More to Life (Stacie Orrico) - This song has somewhat inspirational lyrics, and teenagers can relate to them really well. Orrico has a unique voice, and this song is really fun.
We Are Family (Jump5) - Though the remake is nowhere near as good as the original, I think Jump5's version of "We Are Family" is pretty awesome. It's a fast-paced, fun dance song.
Ultimate(Lindsay Lohan) - Ultimate was also in the movie Freaky Friday, and it's my favorite song on this CD. The lyrics are a bit cheesy ("You're it, you're the ultimate, it's automatic I'm sure of it..."), but it's a cute, bubbly song. And who knew Lindsay Lohan could sing?

Overall, the songs on THAT'S SO RAVEN OST are pretty standard, but they're all really fun and enjoyable. Other songs that stand out are Raven's "Supernatural" and the theme song to the show. Recommended to fans of That's So Raven or fans of Jump5/Stacie Orrico type music.

On the bouns DVD there were 4 of Raven's videos, THAT'S SO RAVEN(VIDEO), SUPERSITION, GRAZZING IN THE GRASS, and TRUE TO YOUR HEART. When I saw the 'Supersition' video all the clips from 'the haunted manshion' movie were cut out. In the video for the 'Raven theme song' video it was cut short. 'Grazzing in the grass' was left juusst fine. In 'True to your heart' they show her in the studio recording it for the disneymania2 cd witch I also have and also love that song. I can't wait when Raven's 3rd new solo album comes out in the fall.
