Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
: When it comes to recip saws, Milwaukee is the undisputed king, the "Sawzall" name serving almost as a generic label for all reciprocating saws (to Milwaukee's chagrin, we're sure). The flattery is completely deserved, especially in this case. Cordless convenience couples with Milwaukee's know-how for one of the finest recips on the market. It's incredibly well-balanced, powerful and yet easy to handle. The Power Plus battery offers improved run time over standard batteries, and time is money. We love the steel Quik-Lok blade clamp system, which lets you change out blades in a flash and without any tools. For safety, there's a lock-off trigger speed control that prevents an accidental startup. And like Milwaukee's other Sawzalls, if you're in a tight space, you can flip the blade over for close-quarter cuts. This is definitely the tool for the busy contractor. It may be a little spendy for the home do-it-yourselfer, but it's worth every penny.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

From the Manufacturer
This cordless 18-volt Sawzall cuts up to 72 2x4s on a single charge. The 2.4 amp-hour battery delivers more run time and is compatible/interchangeable with all other Milwaukee 18-volt Power Plus tools. The universal one-hour charger can be used to charge any Milwaukee Power Plus battery. The rare-earth, permanent magnet motor delivers high torque for tough cutting applications. The steel quik-lok blade clamp accepts universal 1/2-inch shank Sawzall blades without the need of a hex key. A lock -off trigger speed control (0-2000 strokes per minute) switch prevents inadvertent start up. Blade clamp accepts blade upside down for close quarter cutting. The 18 volt Sawzall is an essential tool for HVAC contractors, plumbers, electricians, maintenance workers, and remodelers. Includes Sawzall, one 2.4 amp-hour battery, charger, two blades, and impact-resistant carrying case.

Did I Get A Bad One?2
I bought this saw based on Milwaukee's reputation and the satisfaction I have had with their electric tools. This recip saw is no comparison to my DeWalt. It has no battery life and seems to lack the power of the DeWalt. Even when fully charged it seems to struggle through the work piece. Possibly a bad battery because I'm sure that Milwaukee would not intentionaly produce something which posesses the lack of quality as displayed in my saw.

Tool Envy -- I LOVE it!5
Had two carpenters and an electrician working on a project at my house this week. They were in the middle of something, and needed a reciprocating saw. One guy was going to go out to his truck (a hike from where we were working), but I said I'd grab mine. Handed him the cordless sawzall, and he couldn't believe it. "I've GOT to get one of those -- that's the best sawzall I've ever used, corded or cordless." All of them had to give it a try.

The big features for him(and for me) are the reversable battery, the 90 degree adjustable handle, the balance and "feel" of the tool, and the blade locking mechanism. If your need is for all day destruction -- get a corded Milwakee sawzall, but for intermittent use this tool can't be beat. And will get into places no corded tool can handle. Comes with two long life, and quick charging, batteries. Enough that you'll hardly ever not have a fresh battery when you need it. You may be able to pay more for a sawzall, but you can't buy a better one.

Most Impressive Sawzall5
With 75 trees on my lot with many dead branches to trim, I was most impressed with the quality of construction and ease of use of the Milwaukee Sawzall. Cutting power and battery life are more than acceptable and recharging the batteries is a snap.
