Customer Reviews

Great Book In An Excellent Series5
We received Book #8 of this series last year as a gift for my then 5-year old daughter who was, and still is, obsessed with fairies. We have now read books 1 - 6 & began book 7 this evening (I read her a couple of chapters every night before she goes to bed.) The whole series is based on the adventures of a young girl, Jessie, whose grandmother is really the true Queen of a magical fairy world referred to as "The Realm". The Grandmother, Jessica, eloped with a human whom she fell in love with and went to live in the human world leaving her younger sister, Helena, to rule in her place. Jessie finds a magical door into the Realm and learns of her grandmother's true identity & then the fun begins. This extremely well-written series takes Jessie on many adventures where Jessie helps save various people in the Realm (and in Book #6, the Realm itself) by being brave and using "Good Human Common Sense." I often find myself reading ahead after my daughter falls asleep to see what will happen next! Always a good sign for a children's book to hold the attention of an adult. So many of the fairy books that are out there are very poorly written and unimaginative. We highly recommend this book as well as this series!

Not for 4 year olds5
My second grade daughter is reading this book and loves it! It was in the 5th grade section at our school library. Amazon has suggested it for the 4-8 year old age group. Way off! Great book though.
