Product Description

It's an Easter Egg-stravaganza!

Lucille is having an Easter Egg Hunt at her rich expensive mansion! And guess what? The winner gets a play date to swim in Lucille's heated indoor swimming pool! Only, here is the problem. How did Junie B. get stuck wearing a big dumb bunny suit? And how can she possibly find eggs when she keeps tripping over her huge big rabbit feet? Being a dumb bunny is definitely not as easy as it looks. Will Junie B. end up with egg on her face? Or will the day deliver some very uneggspected results?

From AudioFile
[Editor's Note: This is a combined review with JUNIE B., FIRST GRADER: ALOHA-HA-HA.]--Lana Quintal's tiny, squeaky voice brings alive the huge personalities of Junie B. and her first-grade friends. Quintal creates laughter as she becomes snotty Lucille, tattletale May, and sassy Junie. DUMB BUNNY finds Junie at rich Lucille's party, competing to find a golden egg and win a swim in Lucille's heated pool. Instead, humor is what heats up when Junie B. bumbles around in an awkward bunny costume. In ALOHA-HA-HA, the focus is on Junie as she travels to Hawaii with her parents. From dealing with "grouchpots" on the plane to spending the entire vacation stuck in a blow-up swim ring that's too small, Quintal's voice increases the hilarity. Junie B - B for Bestest5
This is another delightful foray into the mind of the spunky, sparky Junie. She makes reading fun for kids and grownups - boys AND girls! Actually, far from contributing to bad English I have observed by reading these VERY popular books aloud at school to students in 2nd grade, her grammatical mistakes draw good natured groans and corrections called out in unison. The kids catch them and they enjoy her antics, because she's over the top and a funny goofball, but everybody can relate to her experiences. It may be true that a struggling reader should have better material to work with but could very much still enjoy & benefit from being read to with emphasis whenever she says something "too-Junie".

And She's Back!5
I pretended to be excited about the release of the next Junie B. Jones book because my ten year old daughter still loves this series. But secretly, I'm every bit as thrilled as she is when a new title comes out! I adore Junie B. Jones, and I suspect that Barbara Park writes these books for adults just as much as she does for the kids.

This time Junie B. and her classmates are invited to rich Lucille's house for an Easter egg hunt. Right away things get interesting as Lucille announces that there will be a special golden egg that will win the finder a swim date with Lucille in her family's new pool! Time is spent deciding what to wear (we learn that there are Jewish clothes in this book), and finally the day arrives. In her own undaunted style, Junie B. attends the party, rekindles her "friendship" with Lucille's Nanna, becomes the Easter bunny, and finds a way to keep bossy May from discovering the golden egg. What more could anyone want from a book?

Always funny, this book once again perfectly captures the voice of a first grader. I am at a loss as to how Barbara Park does it so well--perhaps she's just remembered better than the rest of us how it felt to be so enthusiastic and joyful about everything. This is another outstanding entry in the series. Highly recommended for kids of all ages!

Another great story5
The entire Junie B. Jones collection is fantastic. We read them out loud to all five of our kids (ranging from 4-10). They all love them.

This latest story is no exception!
