Product Description

Little Maya longs to find brilliant, beautiful, inspiring color in her world.…but Maya’s world, the Mojave Desert, seems to be filled with nothing but sand. Recommended for bilingual library and personal picturebook collections.5
The very first children's book that artist Maya Christina Gonzalez has written as well as illustrated, My Colors, My World / Mis Colores, Mi Mundo is a bilingual English/Spanish picturebook about a girl who lives in the desert, and her search to discover colors of every hue. "Of all the colors I find, I like hot pink the best. It's the color of the desert sunset." The gently stylized illustrations make superb use of color to blend perfectly with the rhythmic text. Recommended for bilingual library and personal picturebook collections.

Wonderful Book for Preschool5
This charming title is my new favorite Latino children's picturebook. Vibrant, expressive illustrations and bilingual text introduce young children to colors in both Spanish and English while encouraging children to see the beauty in the world around them. The author/illustrator never saw herself in her picturebooks as a child and has now created one that positively represents Latino children! Fantastic!
