About the Author
Chick Moorman is the Director of the Institute for Personal Power, a consulting firm dedicated to providing high-quality professional development activities for educators and parents.

He is a former classroom teacher with over 30 years of experience in the field of education. Chick is a regular contributor to The Chicken Soup for the Soul books, having appeared ini five of The Chicken Soup volumes. He writes a monthly column for six parenting magazines including FAMILIES FIRST, METRO KIDS, BATON ROUGE PARENTS MAGAZINE, PARENT GUIDE, BOSTON PARENTS PAPER and POSITIVE PARENTING.

This book should be required reading for anyone in the field of education. It reaffirmed my belief that all children are equal and should be taught according to what they are ready to learn. I highly recommend this book!

Excellent book! All teachers should read this!
"Spirit Whisperers" should be a must-read for all teachers. It should be read and re-read periodically to reinforce the content. The book teaches teachers to nurture the spirit of the child, that is help them grow and blossom. It helps us teach students to take responsibility for their actions, while at the same time being respectful in our dealing with them. It also is developmentally appropriate.

An Inspiring Book!
I found this book insightful and inspiring. He has a great way of reminding us that children are people with needs too. He gives good examples on how to get kids to cooperate in their learning. A great book for community building in your classroom and for peaceful resolutions to problems.
