Editorial Reviews
From School Library Journal
Kindergarten-Grade 4–This addition to the already wide spectrum of alphabet books highlights the people, objects, and activities found in school. Simple rhymes appear on each full-page entry or spread. For example: Librarians–a super L./In ˜matchmaking' they're leading./They find great books for everyone/and keep the whole school reading! More detailed descriptions are also included for more advanced readers, offering historical and background information. For example, readers will learn what the different colors in the American flag (F) represent, as well as the various elements of color and design taught in an art class (I for illustration). The authors include an impressive list of sources. Some trivia is offered at the back of the book. Average-quality, pen-and-ink and watercolor artwork is filled with interesting details about life related to school in the United States. A serviceable and purposeful addition.–Corrina Austin, Locke's Public School, St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada

Review
"What a great way to introduce and practice the alphabet with children. This book [T is for Teachers] is filled with interesting facts for each letter that are sure to engage all readers... young and old. The bright illustrations and splendid rhymes create a book that is a true joy to read."
--Donna Whyte, author, teacher, education consultant (other than publication )
"A tour of a typical school includes B for books, L for librarians and V for vowels. This book also might appeal to older children who are already familiar with the daily routine. Each page offers more in-depth descriptions of the featured item. For example, on the F for flag page, young readers will learn that the pledge of allegiance, done facing the flag, was written by Frances Bellamy in 1892."

Great gift!!
My family loved this book. It has a lot of info on different aspects of school & also helps to see certain people at school in a different light. Example, how many parents think of the lunch gals or the custodian at Christmas?? We enjoyed it & thought it would make a very special teacher gift. -We also took things in to the nurse, lunch ladies and custodian!
Enjoy
Good Book for Teaching About Things in School
I like this book because it allowed me to introduce items and topics in school to my ESOL class. Students should know words such as custodian, secretary, principal, etc. It allows them to understand the school system around them a bit better. This book would be good for younger students too. I used the book with middle school ESOL students.
