I honestly don't know what I would have done without this during the first 3 months. It instantly soothed my newborn son and made him feel like he was back in the womb. Mine is actually a Nojo Original BabySling, also designed by Dr. Sears. This is apparently no longer available but the Balboa sling appears to be a similar design, with an added pocket on the outside.

My go-to baby book. It has lots of useful advice and information. An attatchment parenting book.

Essential. There's a reason why it's so popular.

I put these over the changing pad cover so whenever it gets messy all I have to do is put a clean one on. This was a daily occurance in the newborn period. With these you'll only need one or two changing pad covers. You can also use them as a bassinet pad or portable changing pad. They really have multiple uses, as their name implies. I bought the Especially for Baby brand at Babies R Us.

I started out with a nursing cover that you throw over the shoulder, but I realized that it's important to be able to see your baby's face while breastfeeding. This nursing cover has a wire at the neckline that allows you to do just that. Good design.

I like the fact that this rocker can be used into toddlerhood. That makes it a better value. My son gets excited by the toys and he starts kicking his feet, which makes it rock a little bit. It keeps him entertained for a few minutes while I shower or get a few things done.

My son finds this fascinating. He gets really excited about it.

I took the sound box out of the bear and I place it by my baby while he's sleeping. Whenever he bumps it or makes a noise, the womb sounds come on for 5 minutes, helping him stay asleep.

My exclusively breastfed baby gets an occasional bottle of pumped milk. He goes from breast to bottle without any nipple confusion with these bottles.

I use this for short trips when I don't want to carry the big diaper bag. I keep it in the car and use it when I grocery shop or run errands.

I've used this from the first bath and it has always kept my baby perfectly positioned and can be used through toddlerhood.

I love the pocketed back waistband to prevent poop from running up the back. What a great idea! They come in sizes preemie to 2. I don't recommend the newborn size because they leak. The umbilical cord opening dips down too low in the front for boys. I would assume this to be the case with the preemie size too. For newborn diapers, I used Pampers Swaddlers.

I use this daily to prevent diaper rash and it works great.

The reason why I'm always smelling my baby's head. Mmmm.

I initially thought these would be unnecessary, but I tried a free sample and they actually do make bathtime a little easier.

I don't know for sure whether it actually works, but it makes me feel like I'm doing something to relieve his gas, which can be quite distressing for a little guy. Plus, it comes with a nice baby nail clipper.
