Average customer review:
I highly recommend this book as it is a well-documented book which details the men behind the modern versions. They were avowed Communists, Roman Catholics, Occultists, Socialists, and the incursion of the Unitarian, Universalist religion into mainstream Christianity. This book carefully takes you back to the era of Plato and shows how much of his philosophy has made it into the church and the beginning of the Gnostic and Arian corruption of the Scriptures. If you only read one book on the enemies of the King James Bible and true Christianity, it should be this one. It is over 500 pages and well documented with quotations from the men themselves who corrupted the Bible in the second century as well as those who carried the corruption through in the 1881 Revised Version.

Product Description

This authoritatively documented book is for the discerning Christian believer. It shows how Satan is trying to accomplish his centuries-old plan, which is to deceive the whole world into denying the saving sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. The book explains how the Spirit of Error is being used to subtly counterfeit the Word and Spirit of God in order to lead the world into a new universal Christianity.

Editorial Reviews

Review
This very informative book deserves the very highest recommendation. -- Jay Green, Sr., Editor, Interlinear Greek Hebrew Bible, September 19, 2002

From the Publisher
This book was written to help shed light on many things that have been performed in secret, under the cover of darkness, which has been behind the developing new universal Christianity. The work is presented believing that if one can see the unfolding of historically documented events in the light of the Word of God, he will, perhaps, be able to discern truth from error.

The purpose of this book, therefore, is not to dispute about the shades of meanings of words, to argue about Bible versions or manuscripts, or to debate about various spiritual or theological movements. Neither is this book intended to criticize those who have differing theological views or social perspectives. Instead, it is the goal of this book to humbly present the factual evidence to help the reader to get to know some of the people and the underlying agenda that led up to the modern process of redefining Christianity. The focus of this book is toward understanding more about the "who and why" of those that have been working for centuries to lay the foundations of a new universal Christianity.

From the Author
While learning that God reveals Himself to us through nature, it took me many years to discover that the truth I had been searching for in nature is but a shadow of the real truth, that being the spiritual things of God. Having given me the gift of reason, it was God, through His Holy Spirit, who brought me to search for truth. I soon found that truth did not lie in my reason, which was the filter through which I interpreted the things that I observed in nature. Instead, I found that the truth I was searching for could only be found in God who, through His Word, created all of nature, including my reason.

In my search, it soon became evident to me that God is Truth. Through the work of my reason and my faith, I accepted that there is one true God. I eventually came to my present understanding that the Word of God is the revelation of God to man. It then became clear to me that the one true God revealed Himself through His Word by His will through the inspiration of His prophets and apostles as recorded in the Scriptures, which were supernaturally preserved. The Word of God was also revealed by the manifestation of God Himself, known as Jesus.

Thoroughly Documented Research5
Written by a scientist, but reads like a fast paced mystery novel. Thoroughly documented, minutely researched, this work answers the haunting questions as to what on earth is going on in todays churches.

Covering nearly 2,000 years of history in a moment, the book took my breath away just trying to keep up with the intrigue, subplots and twists of fate down through the centuries.

This is a book for every curious student of history, revealing what has gone on behind the scenes of so much of what we see taking place in the last hundred years or so.

Highly recommended!

Great Summary of Major Influences on 20th Century Church5
This book is a great compilation of the events, ambitions, deceptions, planning, and people who influenced the doctrines and errors of the 20th century church. Fannin has provided documentation for his claims and exposes how the 19th century church cast Jesus Christ aside and enthroned Reason as sovereign. He exposes Westcott & Hort, not as the unaware translators who made inadvertent errors, but as somewhat minor accomplices in a plan to rewrite God's Word to suit their beliefs. This book provides documentation of the deception that I and my church history teachers have been unaware of and when informed of disregarded to avoid being divisive. The deception was more intentional than I ever imagined. I could not put the book down and read all 600 pages in 5 days. This is a must read for those interested in church history. It was a great follow up to Heresies by Harold O.J. Brown.

Shocking Evidence; or, Conspiracy Theory ?5
I am now in the middle of my third read of this interesting book. One has to read it more than once to have the entirety sink in. Dr. Fannin, who is not a theologian, virtually gives the entire history of Christianity herein, concentrating on the tentacles of Unitarian-Universalism and reason, which have wrapped themselves around the Church since virtually its beginning. He gives excellent background on what was going on in 19th century England, beginning with the antecedents of Bishop Westcott and Fenton J.A. Hort, who were the leaders who revised the Greek New Testament, which culminated in the 1885 release of the English Revised Version of the Bible, which is the granddaddy of all of today's modern translations. There are excellent appendices, which shows, in Greek and afterward in English, the differences between the Traditional Text used in the AV, NKJV, and MKJV/LITV, with the Critical Text used by everything else. I do read Greek, albeit rustily, and after much perspiration while reading and translating, I found no flaws in anything the good Doctor has printed. Yes, I do believe that some---not all--- the 19th century churchmen in Britain were possibly heretics, and modernists, including the 'bloody' Dean of Westminister Abbey, who had no qualms giving Communion to those persons to whom he had no business giving it. Yes, I believe this book describes what is going on in what describes itself as today's Christianity. One actually can feel the horror rising within one's self as these things which may have been thought of as a veritable mishmash, all comes together and suddenly makes sense. Personally, the thought of being boxed into the King James Version of the Bible is a rather revolting thought. But, all in all---is this just another King James Version Only conspiracy theory, of which there are so boringly many of? The ultimate decision must bear upon the reader.
