A Raw, Personal, Deftly Organic Album, It's a Masterclass in Personal Songwriting and Presents a Stunning Sonic Diversion from his Trademark Sound. Jones Explains, "we were Recording the Sixth Stereophonics Album...and In-between Takes I Started Doing These Songs off the Cuff. Three Or Four Tracks in I Realised that this Could Actually Be Something…strange How It's Always Little Things that Makes Big Things Happen. We Didn't Wait - it was Recorded January Seventh and Eigth and Mastered by Friday the 12th...every Song is a Live Take...we Actively Decided to Make it a Bit More Filmic. In Two Days We Put Down 10 Tracks with 10 Different Girls Names…we Wanted to Do Something in the Vain of Nick Cave's "Murder Ballads" Or Johnny Cash's 'blood, Sweat and Tears". The Limited Edition Release Includes a Bonus Dvd of a Live Studio Performance of Five Songs Recorded at London's Sarm Studios. Producer Jim Lowe Captured the Mood Perfectly.

Customer Reviews

awesome5
Kelly Jones is awesome, the cd is awesome. If you like Kelly and or Stereophonics you'll like this. Enough said.

Simply, One of my favorites5
I am certainly not a music expert, but I have 1500+ LP's and I don't have any idea how many CD's, but this is in the top 5 of any I own. Can't exactly say why...Saw the Phonics live a couple of times, always great. This album has it's dark side, no doubt, but if you listen to it from beginning to end, it leaves you with a very real feeling that you just can't shake. It's worth every penny you pay to get it! Unbelieveable.

The Title Says It All5
Each song is about a particular woman. I found this music to be complicated, simple, sexy, beautiful, and ugly, much like moods of a woman. I don't believe that a concept recording about a man would have this many facets, it would be just horny and hungry rather than provocative. Kelly Jones' novel idea is a piece of art. I'm glad I bought it, and so will you. It comes with a companion DVD.
