I bought my first Mac over the 4th of July weekend. I worried about hard it would be to convert -- I was a hardcore PC user for twenty years --- I had to relearn a few things, however, it was worth it. I installed VM/Windows Vista on my machine because I thought I would still run PC programs. Guess what? Two months later I almost forgot I had the option to use Windows programs.
