Customer Reviews
A must-have for Sims 2 lovers
Crammed with colour pics on every page, oodles of tables and charts, gobs of data from the trivial to the critical - this book has everything that should have been in the game manual. But of course, "official" guides really *are* the game manuals, craftily packaged and sold as extras.
Well, for Sim 2 lovers, you *have* to get this one. It is simply too rich in information, tips and hints not to own if you want to immerse yourself in the Sims' world. Sure, you can dig up most of this stuff online at fan sites and through FAQs, but nothing so tidily packaged, or so well presented.
Why only four stars and not five? Where's the index? This book is way too thick, with too much stuff scattered throughout NOT to have an index! That's an unforgivable omission - doesn't Prima have at least ONE editor? Or just designers? An index is CRUCIAL to make any manual truly valuable and effective.
The best Prima game guide I've ever bought!
I confess...I'm a game guide addict. If there's a guide available, I buy it. Sometimes they've been a big help...sometimes they've been a waste of money.
This one definitely falls into the first category. Sims 2 gives us the opportunity to create characters with more depth than the original game, and this guide explains clearly which traits are best for the type of Sim you're attempting to develop.
Unlike other Prima guides for Sims games, this one has a lot more content than just charts for objects or social interactions (which I usually skip). There are very few chapters in this book that don't provide some useful information. It's well worth the money if you want to take your gameplay to another level.
Prima Does It Again
I just got this book today and it's almost 400 pages long. I must say it really does help a lot. I did say that you didn't really need a strategy guide for a game like this but I may have been wrong. The book explains everything in detail and it does so in an easy to read font and FULL COLOR. I do recommend this guide only because The Sims 2 is a lot more advanced, complicated and harder to grasp at times. Just brezze through it if you have to as a refrence or read it from beginning to end. Your choice. Either way, you'll have hours of enjoyment from both.
