A reliable old friend5
I have to replace an old friend, my alarm clock. After 25 years the alarm has faded a little . This is the new version of the same clock. It works when the electricity goes out and wakes you up with a soft repeating alarm that only gets louder if you won't wake up. The face is dark after the lights are out so it doesn't keep you awake. This is one GREAT and long lasting clock.

Portable, functional...LOUD!4
Like another reviewer, I had the previous incarnation of this clock and loved it. Unfortunately my husband accidentally killed it one morning. (Guess he didn't want to get up for work.) Apparently the old model is no longer available, so I ordered this one. It was the only battery operated, analog clock I could find that also has a snooze bar-activated light. That was my main criterion, since I like the room totally dark when I'm sleeping but also want to be able to check the time if necessary.

My only complaint about this clock is the loudness and shrillness of the alarm. It's a high-pitched electronic beep, with alternating tones that get progressively louder if you ignore it. (Not that I could ignore it if I wanted to.) I ended up putting a piece of tape over the speaker on the back of the unit, and now it's tolerable.

If you sleep through quieter alarms, then this could be the perfect clock for you. But if you're a light sleeper and sudden, loud noises make you jump out of your skin, try the tape method or try another clock.

great for a bedroom5
I bought this clock for my bedroom, but I picked a silver one, I'm not a big fan of gold color. it's very quiet, looks good, and it's easy to see at night by pressing button on the top. For the price I highly recommend it.
