Lots of fun!
This toy is my 11-year-old's favorite. You can configure the cars differently every time you build them. They are fun to race and the battery powered motors are so much better than the spring powered ones. It's a really good value and a great addition to your basic k'nex set.

Lego compatible, better for kids over 5 or 6
Bought last Christmas for a 5 year old and a 2-1/2 year old. Neither was old enough to build by themselves but had a lot of fun playing with the finished product. The 5 year old was able to repair the models when they came apart.

One nice feature is that the parts are compatible with standard Legos. This means that once you get bored with the configurations they provide, you can motorize your own creations.

The cars run at about a medium walking pace so they don't really "race" but indoors that's a good thing.

Some of the pieces are very small and they do break as I found out. Our youngest just started crawling so we've put this set in the basement for now.......

Entertaining and Creative
We purchased two sets for our 7 and 9 year old boys for Valentine's Day. They have many K'nex sets and always enjoy them, but these were the first sets with battery powered motors....what a blast! They are really enjoying making cars that can go! They are much more powerful than the wind-up motors that they've received in other sets. A very good set for children who like cars!
