Amazon.com Review
If a slow-roasted chicken or rich ratatouille sounds incredibly tempting, this round French oven, a great casserole dish, will help satiate your cravings. The versatility of Le Creuset's dish lets you prepare a recipe on the stove and then move it to the oven, or bake it completely in the oven and then transfer it to table and finally into the dishwasher. This pan has been fashioned in France from porcelain enamel cast iron, giving it a durable weight and a beautiful finish. Also, cast iron distributes heat evenly and requires cooking with only low to medium temperatures. The pan's design and tight fitting lid keep the moisture in with foods (to avoid drying) and maintain full flavor. Always cool this pan before washing, and avoid abrasive pads or cleaners. --Teresa Simanton

Creuset Casseroles are the Best
The single best pots for doing rich chicken dishes and the like. Conducts heat perfectly, well-balanced and very easly to clean. So many great meals have emerged from these pots that I tend to cook more frequently, especially the more slow-cooking or complex dishes.
I inheirited one of these pots and then bought another. Since then I have excused all similar imitations from the kitchen.
If I had to equipt my kitchen with 3 cooking pots/pans, this would come right after the skillet and sauce pan.
Fantastic pot
I received this for Christmas and use it almost every day. So far nothing has stuck, not even when I burned the pudding (it came out with a rubber scrapper). It is a breeze to clean and a joy to use. I will definitly buy more.
A wonderful thing to have in your kitchen!
This 3.5 qt French Oven is such a great pot for things such as soups, stews, and larger batches of sauce. It heats evenly and you can usually get away with a lower heat level than called for in a recipe because the heat distribution is really effective. I've already made a number of tasty dishes in this pan, and I can't imagine what I did before I owned this. 3.5 quarts doesn't sound like a lot, but it's plenty of room for a couple or small family. I highly recommend this for cooks of all levels!
