The Rockport Encounter men's walking shoe boasts a padded collar and tongue to help prevent blisters and lace bruising, while a heel pad offers additional underfoot cushioning. A stitch-in and San Crispino construction allows for forefoot flexibility, and the Dynamic Suspension uses a DMX foam chamber unit on the bottom of the footbed that allows for dynamic air cushioning and sensation. CMEVA midsole ensures lightweight resilient cushioning to help reduce foot and leg fatigue. Rubber outsole delivers a durable grip on a variety of surfaces. The more I wear 'em, the more I like 'em...
These are great shoes! They served me admirably on my recent trip to France, where I wore them every day. I put a little ScotchGard on them for some water resistance, and then I was good to go. No problems whatsoever. The Nubuck leather just needs a little brushing here & there to look good as new.
Totally satisfying.
I am on my third or fourth pair, and they are just great. Every night I walk 2 miles up and down steep hills, and have been doing this for well over 10 years. These shoes fit perfectly (comfortably snug) and the soles last a long time. My previous walking shoes - various brands - were not nearly as satisfactory.
