Sweat Off The Pounds...Dance To Fun Music....Firm It Up!4
This is the second Suzanne Cox workout I have tried. I really like her. She cues well, reminds you to work at your own level, breaks down the complicated steps, and makes it a fun workout. I found this one, "Firm It Up; A Dance Workout" at Walmart for a buck, along with a couple of other for the same amount. I'll mention those later.I would recommend this work out for any one who has been doing aerobics and wants to step up their workout burn more calories, and get a little creative. So I would say from intermediate beginners to intermediates(although even advanced might find this a nice change of pace).

There are two separate workouts. Each is around 25 minutes including the warm, warm down and stretches. Each with music that really makes you want to move. First up is a disco routine. A warm up, hitting every part and getting the blood flowing, and then a disco type dance routine with several different steps, from movies like "Pulp Fiction" and "Saturday Night Fever", that will move you around front and back, sideways, get your arms moving, hips and upper body as well. Suzanne breaks the moves into two halves, and after learning both parts, she puts it all together for you, and you'll go through all the moves several times. Some steps are complicated, don't worry if you don't get them all right away. It took me a few times before I felt like I had them, but it was lots of fun trying. At the end of this dance routine, some leg toning with squats and lunges, that you will feel. Then a lovely cool down and stretch.

The next workout will get you shaking and moving to the sounds of Tribal Music for a warm-up, and then some fun club/salsa moves, that also may take a while to get down. It's okay, just keep moving to the energizing music, you'll have a great time, and you'll be sweating and burning those calories. The movements used will firm you up concentrating on specific movement for your arms, legs, torso and lower half. Another short but intense toning session for legs and butt, follow, using leg lifts, and squats, and then a warm-down. There is no stretch after this second work-out, so you may want to keep going, stretching all parts during the end credits.

You can do just one or both routines. As you build your stamina, you should be able to go through both. Remember to work at your own pace. There is some jumping involved with some of the moves, and if you need to stay with low impact, just march in place.Unlike the other work out of hers I have tried, there is no one to follow for modifying your moves(although there are 3 other girls working out). Also, my only other problem with this work out, was that several times, while I was trying to get the moves down, the camera, focused only on the upper body, and I couldn't see what their feet were doing.

This dance workout, left me sweating, feeling great and energized. It's a great change of pace, that I will rotate into my workouts. Used 3-4 times a week, you should really see some good results. The other two workouts I found at Wal-Mart on the same shelf, were "The Fix", which uses 3 workouts of Dance, Aerobics, and and a firm up. (This One I have already reviewed, if you are interested enter B000FHDLBI in the search).
The other is "Tai Chi Innerwave" with Joey Bond. I will check that one out soon and post of review of how it was. The DVD is nice, clear with good sound, but has to be turned up a little more then usual. There are scene selctions for each phase, including warm-ups.

For the price, you could hardly go wrong with these workouts.
Remember to Breathe, Eat Healthy, and Enjoy.....Laurie
