The ShurTrax All Weather Traction Aid for Full Size Pickup Trucks and SUVs safely and cleanly adds handling, traction control and traction weight over the rear axle, preventing axle hop and wheel hop. Simply add up to 400 pounds of water using a simple garden hose along with the included fill fitting. Four brass grommet tie-downs allow for safe, secure weight that improves vehicle balance, handling, cornering and traction on wet, slippery roads. ShurTrax answers the safety concerns of alternative sources of weight such as sandbags, concrete blocks, cord wood and other potential projectiles. Baffles are die-electrically welded into place to prevent surging during cornering. No need to worry about carrying cargo on top of ShurTrax, it has been tested to support 500 pounds. ShurTrax integrity is protected by a tough 25 millimeter vinyl outer chamber. This outer chamber vinyl is UV resistant and reinforced with woven nylon mesh for long service. The inner chamber is also 25 millimeters thick and flexes, enabling a smooth ride and improved handling. Good weight for winter
I have now used this in a 3/4 ton pickup for a couple of months. Not bad. Easy to fill. I like the idea of being able to drain it (in good weather) if I need the bed for hauling. It is a bit light for the 3/4 ton. I would like to see one that is double this size (800 lbs.) This one slid forward when braking but stoped just touch ing the forward end of the bed. Other than making one that completely fills the 6' bed, I don't know how else to do it. It is a bit difficult to tie in place because its tie downs are toward the middle. Tie downs on the rear corners would be a better design for the tie downs.

Great product!
I bought one of these for my husband's truck because they CAN'T fly anywhere on impact. I'm all about the safety. In response to J. E. Kiehn's review, I'm not certain if he knows exactly how much force is required to break a sandbag, therefore "dissipating" it's energy, but after working in the ER for a number of years and seeing a few "sandbags meet craniums", I can state categorically and for the record, the cranium always loses. The sandbag always comes out looking better. That's why the guy who invented this product is a genius!

Get rid of any potential projectiles from the back of your truck and pick up a ShurTrax. It does what it advertises and easier on the truck bed than sand or salt bags. Have had ours for 3 months and no leaks despite other cargo!
