A gripper
This is a story not only of a fine dog, but also of its owners. One of them describes in gripping detail a series of challenges they faced as Daisy incurred failures in her anatomy, and how they made their decisions to help her, often at tremendous financial and emotional costs to themselves, and why they made them. A must read if you are an animal lover who has occasionally wondered about the bridge between us and them.
To Touch Your Heart
A lively, comical Dalmation begins to show a recurring limp, and since she is nine years old, her owners think arthritis is the likely culprit. When x-rays show a spinal problem, the tough decisions have to be made. The author, Cas Peace, clearly and bluntly, tells the story of Daisy's illness and complications of surgery and the all-out effort by Cas and her husband to get Daisy walking again. This is for anyone who has had a real connection with an animal and loved that animal beyond most ordinary understanding. It will touch your heart.
