This compelling documentary tracks the events that lead to the conclusion of the war in Europe. As the Americans create a bridgehead on the River Elbe, the Luftwaffe makes a last desperate attempt to counter the fury of the Allies bombing of Berlin.

Whilst Hitler visits the Eastern Front, the Hitler Youth builds barricades around the doomed city. But all is lost, as far as the Third Reich is concerned. The Russian Army launches a devastating attack along the Oder River, only 40 miles from Berlin. The German surrender becomes inevitable, and the hapless city is divided up amongst the victors.

Those seeking Yuli Raizman and Elizaveta Svilova's famous 1945 documentary should know that this item is being sold under false pretenses. This is a 2005 film using old footage prepared by Chronos Films. It is NOT the Soviet original, contrary to what Amazon says on its website. I was fooled but hopefully you will not be.--SL, NYC
