About the Author
Nick Stellino grew up in Palermo, on the island of Sicily, and came to the United States in 1975. In 1991, he decided to leave his career as a Wall Street stockbroker in order to follow his dream of becoming a chef. He started his culinary career as a dishwasher. Over time, he apprenticed with the best Italian chefs in America. "I was in heaven at the restaurant," says Nick. "But I wanted to share my enthusiasm for Italian cooking with more people, I decided a cooking show was the answer." Employing the energy and dedication that had taken him from Palermo to Wall Street, Nick began calling production companies. His efforts culminated in the highly successful series, Cucina Amore, Nick Stellino's Family Kitchen and the PBS specials, Nick Stellino's Dinner Party and Nick Stellino: Food, Love & Family. Nick lives in Los Angeles with his wife Nanci.

Customer Reviews

At Home with Italian Food4
Probbly the best of his books, Nick has finally come down into the kitchen we all have and offers rememberances of his past in both the recipes and stories. While there is a slight feeling of repetition in some of the cooking, most of the instructions are to the point and the results will be well received. Just remember Nick's own rule: make the recipe your own - don't be afraid to substitute if you don't have a specific item.

Nick is the BEST!5
Every recipe is fantastic, relatively simple and full of flavor. I have a lot of his books but I LOVE this little one as I have seen most of these recipes cooked on his TV show. This is a MUST HAVE!!!

I love his other books but this one was a disappointment. Not a lot of good recipes. More about his family than recipes.
