About the Author
As an author, host, spokeswoman and model, Malonda Richard communicates with a powerful, natural ability. From 1999 2001, she earned her following as former host of BET: Next and Out the Box, music programs showcasing cutting-edge alternative, hip-hop, gospel and R&B artists, including Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Jill Scott and Meshell Ndegeocello. Malonda carried this energy throughout the network, accepting projects thereafter with BET Jazz. Malonda¹s tenure at BET jump-started other television and event projects with CBS, Absolut, and added a number of legendary interviews, tributes, music festivals, videos, shows and commercials to her credits.

Through her many formal dialogues, Malonda has entertained topics of art, music, fashion, beauty, history and politics. In 2003, however, Malonda¹s conversation shifted to an entirely different conceptS parenting. This precious, life-altering event left Malonda, for once, speechless. Malonda¹s challenges as a single mother were intense, and she spent countless hours gauging the balance of career and family. While refocusing her life¹s lens, Malonda was determined to create the best of both worlds.

Today, Malonda is the founder of MamiHood.com and is starring in and co-producing an original documentary, affectionately titled, Mamihood: A Reel Life Documentary. An award-winning television producer and highly skilled, NYU-trained multi-media professional, Malonda shares a compelling, first- and one-of-kind, cinematic experience. Not just a film project, Mamihood is a movement that seeks to improve the quality of life for single mothers everywhere, in an effort for them to be and 'breed' their best.

Malonda shares her story with excerpts, taken from her daily journal, from inception to labor. She was determined to stay positive, about her situation, and generate strength for her growing child. An inspiring true story of a woman's triumph!5
As you read this story, you'll see that this author really has the manifesting thing down. She has learned not to give power to her challenges and instead revels in the blessings that a less disciplined person might even overlook or take for granted. Finding out that she's pregnant in her thirties, and flirting with the acceptance that her partner might not really be completely present, the author gathers up all her strength and resilience to serve Ameerah, her unborn child, by turning the story of their challenges into a piece of art that most any woman can relate to. I highly recommend this book to any mother, single or otherwise. The writing is both easy and beautiful, and the author's meaningful poetry appears throughout the book.
