Sure...this is nature study, plus a lot more. Discusses where all the ingredients from cookies come from ( I learned something!) within a story. Also some geography as well!

It's amazing what you see from a kayak. We've gotten close to canadian geese, watched a heron fish, seen loons with their babies, mallard ducks, wood ducks, beavers, insects...this is nature study! This book has given us our most treasured kayaking destinations.

Great field guide. I want my kids to have life skills as well as "book smarts", knowing about trees is a life skill...which ones provide food, hard wood vs soft wood etc...

Probably goes without saying...but we use this so often throughout the year. Also if you don't have bird feeders up, we find that they provide us with daily entertainment and learning opportunities...better yet, make your own feeders and learn a life skill, measuring, geogmetry etc!

Wonderful book that teaches how forests grow back from cleared land...which species grow first etc...in this way you can then determine the age of forests...how long have they been there...what's their history etc...

This would be a great family read-aloud if you are learning about trees, maple syrup etc. Again...lovely relationships.

This book actually makes me teary! It's just a beautiful story and yes, no apologies here, makes me grateful for God's abundance. Here you will learn about purpose, persistence, and love and NATURE. As always Mary Azarian's illustrations are fascinating.

I really loved this book...very informative and funny too. The side bar illustrations are beautiful. Honestly I probably liked it more than my children did.

It is indescribably glorious to plant a seed , watch it grow to provide food for you and then cook an inspired vegetarian meal. My kids are learning to take care of themselves from the ground up!

A wealth of knowledge here, from planting, soil maintenance, greenhouse construction, and what plants can be grown to feed you throughout the winter. Isn't that lovely?

Lovely book for little ones and beyond. Inspirational. Ruth Krauss is the wife of Crockett Johnson, who illustrated this book and is the author of Ellen's Lion...one of my all time favorite books.
