It's amazing what you see from a kayak. We've gotten close to canadian geese, watched a heron fish, seen loons with their babies, mallard ducks, wood ducks, beavers, insects...this is nature study! This book has given us our most treasured kayaking destinations.

Probably goes without saying...but we use this so often throughout the year. Also if you don't have bird feeders up, we find that they provide us with daily entertainment and learning opportunities...better yet, make your own feeders and learn a life skill, measuring, geogmetry etc!

Oh, what an old treasure this is. Found these old books 2 years ago in an old trunk in my family home. Wonderful language and filled with information for little ones. My highest recommendation! We also have Orchardland, though I couldn't find it here.
