This silver stainless steel watch case measures 25mm (1 inch) wide and is topped by a brilliantly polished bezel. The sublimely silver features a mix of gold-tone stick and Arabic numeral marker, and thin baton hands. Other features include a scratch-resistant mineral crystal, precise Japanese quartz movement, and water resistance to 30 meters (99 feet)--which can withstand splashes of water while washing hands or in the rain.

All Skagen stainless steel watch cases and bands are constructed from durable 100 percent solid stainless steel, and is nickel safe and hypoallergenic for sensitive skin. This watch is backed by Skagen's limited lifetime warranty, which covers all parts except strap, crystal and battery.

About Skagen Named after a fishing hamlet in Denmark on the northern tip of the Jutland peninsula, Skagen Designs was founded by Henrik and Charlotte Jorst in 1991 after the two Copenhagen natives moved to New York City. The company subscribes to the principle that beautifully designed, high-quality objects can be created at reasonable prices. Skagen watches represent the technical excellence, refined design and operational simplicity that have created the unique reputation of Danish design.

The fishing village of Skagen--the Skaw--lies where the northern-most tip of the Danish peninsula known as Jutland bends East and breaks the surging waters of the Kattegat and Skagerak seas. The spectacular natural beauty of the area is compellingly beautiful, and its white sandy beaches have been visited by artists for centuries.

One of the Best Purchases I've Ever Made5
This is a good watch, and a fantastic buy. On the Skagen website, which I used extensively to look up product specifications and high-res pictures, they sell this watch for almost double what amazon.com sells it for.

I received the watch in the mail very quickly; it came in very nice packaging, worked right out of the box, and it looks gorgeous. It is very lightweight, but you can tell by handling it that it is VERY sturdy. The watch is nicely designed, but the face is especially beautiful. The dial is minimalist but elegant. It is really nice to look at something pretty when you need to know the time, rather than fishing your clunky cellphone out of your pocket or purse. I've actually gotten compliments on how thin it is from strangers. It dresses up a casual outfit and goes really well with more formal stuff, anything but black tie.

I've never worn a watch before, but I love this Skagen, and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Edited to add: Somehow I cracked the glass face of the watch right down the middle very shortly after purchasing. (I honestly don't know how it happened, I must have slammed my wrist against the wall during a nightmare? Weird.) I emailed customer service on the Skagen website, and they very quickly agreed to waive fees for the new face, the service charge, and shipping/handling (would have been around $40, almost the price of the watch itself). I mailed the watch in broken and got it back a week later good as new for ONLY the cost of shipping it to their service center. GREAT customer service to match a great product.

waterproof watch5
Great watch - wanted something waterproof to wear swimming and in the shower. This is perfect!

My favorite watch!5
I bought this watch to replace my beloved 15-year old Skagen, which I wore almost daily. I have have several other watches from other brands that I bought to potentially replace my original Skagen and wear on occassion, but this is the only watch that I really need. It's sleek, beautiful, and versatile. It goes with all of my jewelry, whether silver or gold, modern or antique. I love the stainless steel band, which was easy to adjust to my exact wrist size. The watch face is the perfect size, with a nice presence - not too large or small for my somewhat small wrist. I couldn't be more pleased.
