About the Author
Liana Lowenstein, MSW, is an author, sought-after speaker, and practitioner with 20 years of specialized work with children, adolescents and their families. She provides clinical supervision to mental health practitioners, runs a play-therapy internship program, and consults to several mental health agencies. She has a reputation as a dynamic workshop leader and has presented trainings across North America and abroad. She is founder of Champion Press publishing company and has authored numerous publications including the highly-acclaimed books, Paper Dolls & Paper Airplanes: Therapeutic Exercises for Sexually Traumatized Children (with Crisci & Lay, 1997), Creative Interventions for Troubled Children & Youth (1999), More Creative Interventions for Troubled Children & Youth (2002). Her newest books released in 2006 are Creative Interventions for Children of Divorce, and Creative Interventions for Bereaved Children.

WONDERUL and CREATIVE!
Another therapist recommended this book to me for it's creativity...and I love it! It has numerous activities to do with clients. It is in sections based upon a skill, like identifying and expressing feelings, self esteem, coping and social skills. With each section it has wonderful games such as TIC-TAC-TOE FEELINGS, and COMFORT KIT, as well as variations of games we already play-like basketball or other commonly used board games, and most of the games supplies are in the book or can be easily found in your office (or bought for pretty cheap). It also has a little graduation section and a bibliography. I love this book for so many reasons, but it really helped with ideas for kids who are not into traditional therapy.

Money Well Spent
I am a social worker who often works with oppositional and resistant children. This book offers several fresh ideas on interacting and engaging children so that they will begin to talk about their feelings. I have been very impressed with the several activities and have found that they can be applied to children of various ages with very little work. I think this book is a must for anyone who works with children.

Creative, but Easy
The activities in this book are well organized and simple. Most do require some type of preparation and some materials. Some of the activities use games; others use art therapy, etc. This is an invaluable resource for me in therapy session with children and adolescents. The kids have always been interested in the interventions I have used from this book. This is therapy without the child KNOWING it's therapy.
Highly recommended.
