Editorial Reviews
From Publishers Weekly
Angelina meets a new friend in Angelina and Alice by Katharine Holabird, illus. by Helen Craig. After a grand beginning, the friends go through a bumpy patch when Alice sides with some older kids who mock Angelina's handstand abilities. Luckily, Alice comes through in the end. Craig's illustrations are as winsome as ever as she chronicles the heroine's emotional roller-coaster ride.

Customer Reviews
Cute Cute Cute
That's exactly what this book is. Cute. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful, and the story is enjoyable. Angelina and Alice are both mice. One day they meet each other and become friends because they both like the same things. When other kids (mice) at school begin making fun of Angelina, Alice joins in. Angelina is left with no friends, and no partner in gym. I won't tell you what happens in the end. You'll have to find out for yourself.
I recommend this book to children and adults alike.
Not just for girls
This book was on my son's reading list for school so I though alright. But I was amazed to find that he enjoyed the story. My son is autistic and can not speak or understand very well but when I finished this story he looked at me with a question and said "Mouse friends?". Now he asks for this story often at bed time. This is a good book for beginner readers and younger and I enjoyed it as well.
Charming Angelina story about friendship
In "Angelina and Alice", Angelina meets a new friend Alice and they bond, but when Alice joins another group of friends and teases her, Angelina feels left out. Things work out in the end, and the pair form a close friendship. The Angelina series of books are adorable, and the beautiful and detailed illustrations possess an old-world charm that endears the books to children. The books are great for reading aloud to preschoolers and up, and will appeal most to little girls who love ballet, and young children who love stories about cute little mice!
