Customer Reviews

Nice but not what I expected3
I didn'[t realize this was primarily a book of good photographs. Getting ready for a trip and knowing little, I was expecting that the book was something of a personal memoir of the author's trip to her ancestral homeland. There is some commentary, but It is not personal; I was disappointed. Clearer description of the approach would have avoided this disappointment.
Something of a more personal memoir or impressions would be welcome.

Lil Junas is an American of Slovak decent. After the fall of communismus and Slovak independence, she spent a year in Slovakia teaching. The book is well organized with chapters about the country and its people. Very helpful for anyone who want to familiarize himself with the country without having to read a lenthy history.
Lil Junas did not write about the capital city and it's great history,as she spent all her time in the countrysite. The photos are excellent and capture the beauty of the country.
