Customer Reviews
Disappointing Smashbox!
I struggle with oily breakthrough, even though I am middle aged. This compact looked like the ticket and for that price I assumed it was the real deal. The product comes with a tiny cheap peace of foam for the sponge. It leaves the 'powder' looking dirty after a few uses. I think the product works to a certain extent, but it needs a better applicator.
Mixed Results
I can't decide if I like this stuff or not. It's definitely unusual, though. Instead of being a powder, which most people are used to using to stop shine, this stuff is a solid silicone gel--it has a consistency similar to a solid lip gloss.
It definitely does reduce shine by absorbing oil, but it seems like I have to put it on way too frequently. Basically I think what it does is just absorb what oil is there when I put it on, but it doesn't deal with new oil that appears on my face throughout the day. I do, however, like its compact size, which allows me to stick it right in my wallet or pocket and take it anywhere.
Would I recommend it to a friend? Probably not.
Disappointed
I have oily skin and bought this (along with Smashbox Anti-Brilliant) while Smashbox was on QVC recently. What a waste of money! Not only does this stuff not prevent oil, I am convinced that it makes my skin worse. Basically, I'm having to reapply it every hour.
Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel by Peter Thomas Roth is a much better buy.
