Sony has refined its Trinitron monitor technology over the span of more than 30 years, using an aperture grille to deliver a lifelike, crisp image. The KV-32XBR 32-inch Trinitron TV maintains these high standards, offering a high-resolution, high-contrast picture from its deep black screen. As with many of Sony's models, the TV also offers a 3D digital comb filter, which removes the blurred edges between colors and reduces dot crawl, along with a dual-tuner picture-in-picture (PIP), which lets viewers watch two of their favorite programs on the same screen, either in a large and small window or side by side (a particular favorite for sports fans). Users can also freeze one of the programs in the smaller PIP window.

The TV comes with a number of convenient user extras, such as multiple video modes (standard, vivid, movie, and sports); SpeedSurf rapid channel scanning for viewers with an itchy remote finger; adjustable brightness, color, hue, and sharpness sliders; an eight-channel favorites feature for previewing favorite stations without leaving the current channel; closed captioning; and a parental control feature. The TV's Extended Data Service gives viewers extra programming information, such as channel call letters and program lengths and times when provided by the cable or satellite service.
